My boyfriend and I moved in Aug of 2020. The place is small, and dark. Kitchen is nice, and the room is a nice size. But here is everything else about it:
-there were a ton of bugs in our apartment when we first got here in Aug, so they DAY WE MOVED in, we called management to bring out the exterminator. We called them once a week for three weeks, and everytime we called, the person said that is was a new request and that this was their first time hearing about it even though we called three times. We ended up buying our own spray and we do that about once a month to keep the bugs away.
-If you are someone who wants their packages stolen, or plants that they put a lot of time and effort in to be stolen, you should move here! I have had two packages stolen when I was waiting for them. We had also been growing a lemon plant for almost a year, and had an orange cactus, which was my favorite, and avocado plant that we have been growing for over a year, and a bonzai tree outside our apartment, like many other residents here, you know, to make it feel more like home. And then one day, my cactus was gone. We were sad, then the next day, someone stole three more of my plants. Now it feels like there is just no trust at this apartment complex. I called management about it, and they said yeah that has been happening a lot, sorry! And that was it.
-The internet went out on one Friday. There are a lot of college students living here, and with all of our classes online, that is very frustrating. We called management, no one picked up. We called again at around 3pm, someone picked up and said they were working on it and it would be fixed soon. We called again, no answer. Then the office was closed on the weekend, and there were no updates. So we all had to go without internet for the weekend. There was no communication from management until the internet came back on, and they said they were working on it.
-Also, the washers are super small. While it is convenient to have a washer and dryer in one, you will dry anything for 3+ hours straight and they won't dry. And, if you DO dry anything, your washer will lock the door so you can't open up your load of laundry for at least one hour, sometimes more. The washer and dryers are Haier, look it up, and the only option to open this locked washer is to either cut the power, or call service. We sat tonight waiting for two and a half hours for the dryer to open, and guess what, the sheets weren't even dry after 4 hours of drying.
-Everything is also super uneven in the apartment... the floors are slanted and bumpy and the counters too.
-and the utilities are super expensive as well. We keep the ac off ALL day, except we turn it on at night for a few hours to cool down. We try to conserve water and electricity, and we have been home for a few weeks at a time too, and utilities are still higher than any other apartment I have lived in.
-One last thing, the windows are small, and do not let any light in, so the place feels like a dungeon, and will make you depressed, especially since you can't go outside or do anything because of Corona.
